Brazil's Claro, TIM and Vivo networks all run 5G in São Paulo, Rio, Brasília, Salvador and the major cities, with 4G across the coast, Iguaçu and the interior towns. The Amazon, the Pantanal and the long-distance roads have limited coverage.

- Amazon lodges near Manaus and the Pantanal fazendas have little signal — plan messages before you go.
- Pix is the local payment system and does not work for tourists; cards do. Data for restaurant bookings and the metro apps is enough.
